This issue has been fixed in 25w08a.
New textures have been added to all spawn eggs individually in this snapshot, and spawn_egg.png and spawn_egg_overlay.png have been removed.

What this ticket is trying to clarify is that since "creaking_transient" interact with the player in a similar way to invulnerable entities, should their interactions with projectiles also be consistent with invulnerable entities?
